TAL (formerly TOWER Australia) announced the completion of its brand transition from Tower Australia Group with the Retail Life and Investment businesses assuming the new name in October 2011.
When TAL was Tower Australia Group it formally separated from its parent company Tower Limited in 2006 and listed on the Australian stock exchange. TAL was originally the New Zealand Government Life Insurance Office (Government Life). In 1990 Government Life was rebranded Tower and entered into the Australian Life Insurance market.
